The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is a public higher education and research institution, formally created in 1982, although it did not start its activity until 1985. This young institution, which has recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary, is an indisputable backbone of the region in which it is located, a region covering almost 80,000 square kilometers.
UCLM is structured into four university campuses located in Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo, which explains the significant technological development of UCLM, a pioneer in the adaptation of new information technologies and communications in the university context.

Universidad de Zaragoza La Universidad de Zaragoza cuenta con campus universitarios en las provincias de Zaragoza, Huesca y Teruel, que conforman el territorio de Aragon. Universidad Extremadura La Instituci贸n Universitaria Extremadura se funda en el a帽o 1973 (Decreto 991/1973 de 10 de Mayo). Sin embargo, es a finales de la d茅cada de los sesenta cuando comienzan a impartirse las primeras ense帽anzas universitarias en la regi贸n, logr谩ndose as铆 un objetivo perseguido insistentemente por la sociedad extreme帽a a comienzos de la d茅cada de los cincuenta. Esos estudios universitarios, localizados en las dos capitales provinciales, estuvieron en principio vinculados a las universidades geogr谩ficamente m谩s cercanas. De manera que mientras en Badajoz quedaba establecida la Facultad de Ciencias, (Secci贸n de Qu铆micas, a帽o 1968) y vinculada a la Universidad de Sevilla, en C谩ceres se creaba el Colegio de Humanidades (Filosof铆a y Letras, a帽o 1971) dependiente de la Universidad de Salamanca, comenzando as铆 la trayectoria de la que hoy es la Universidad. Desde entonces y hasta la actualidad la Universidad ha experimentado un crecimiento constante y paulatino incorporando nuevos t铆tulos y extendi茅ndose hasta configurar un mapa docente definido por varios semidistritos y campus universitario: M茅rida, Plasencia, C谩ceres y Badajoz. La mayor concentraci贸n de t铆tulos se localiza en 茅stos dos 煤ltimos semidistritos, creados casi paralelamente como hemos se帽alado y vinculados a campos tem谩ticos muy distintos tambi茅n desde sus or铆genes: el de las Ciencias para Badajoz y el de las humanidades para C谩ceres. Universidad Politecnica Madrid The Technical University of Madrid (UPM) was founded en 1971 integrating the Architectural and the Engineering Schools in existence in Madrid at that time. Nowadays, many of the schools are more than a century old. Al present, it comprises 20 schools and college in which 42 Higher Education Degrees can be studied, 39 of which belong to the technological area: Aeronautical, Agronomical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Forestry, Industrial, Mechanical, Mining, Nuclear, Naval, Geodesy and Cartography Engineering, a Center for Physical Education and Sport, and about two hundred to third cycle programs, doctor and postgraduate studies.
