An information packet can be an effective way to follow up with a faculty member or administrator who expresses interest in contributing courses to your ocw project. An effective packet will remind the recipient of points you have already made in your initial conversation or presentation but ideally will also allay unexpressed concerns and generate further discussion. Finally, effective use of the information packet will allow you to devote most of your next conversation to creative development of the ocw experience rather than establishment of basic principles.
A Faculty Information Packet should include:
A Cover Letter reminding the recipient of the aims and scope of your ocw project and outlining the materials to be found in the packet.
A Copyright Summary—begins to educate the faculty member about what types of material are admissible and how to think of the contribution.
